IMAGE/REFLECTION/SIGN
The author of this study did not choose the possibility of a holistic understanding of the expressive being of poetic forms, but instead adopted a methodologically partial approach to the imaginative, reflective, and semiotic aspects of lyrical formativity. Each of these three aspects is considered in the same, methodologically analogous way—first through a concise overview of the history of research, and then through a proposal for establishing an appropriate stylistic model, accompanied by an explanatory demonstration of its possible application to examples from modern and contemporary Croatian poetry.
